About Me

I am a Linguistics PhD student and Spanish instructor at the University of New Mexico. I received my undergraduate degree in Linguistics from Brigham Young University in 2016 and then worked for 4 years as a District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America before returning to academia and receiving an MA from BYU in 2023.

My primary areas of focus are documentation and typology of North and Central American languages, and my thesis research focused on reference tracking in Jicarilla Apache. While at UNM I will be working on documenting child speech and child-directed speech, as well as various methods of teaching low resource languages to families and children.
